(More customer reviews)Yes, I like Wendell August Forge products. I admit it. Actually, I kind of love them! Look at them. They're gorgeous. They're hand made right here in America. They have been in business since 1923 - the same year that Yankee stadium was built and insulin became available for diabetics! They've survived wars and the great depression! Yes, nothing to do with the bread tray. I just thought I'd throw that out there, you know, in case you were wondering.
I do not own this particular design bread tray. I have given away several of them as gifts to friends. This one is newer and I'm hoping to receive it myself for Christmas. I think it's a beautiful and functional gift. Looks at the details in the leaves. The people that made that die must have spent a lot of time getting the details right!
Like I said before, I've given these as gifts to others and they have loved them. They are pretty enough to be displayed when not in use (shelf, counter, above stove?) but still functional. Take them down and use them to serve the bread at dinner. Oh, you're on a low carb diet?? You can serve your lettuce roll-ups on there instead! Just remember to cover the bread try in saran wrap so you can protect the finish!
No date on the back of the bread tray but it does come with the Wendell Agust stamp on the back!
