I've had several bread knives and they all act the same until now. The old knives flex too much and the way they are sharpened makes them want to cut the bread at an angle, thick at the top and thin at the bottom. I hate that so I started looking for a good bread knife.
This is a wonderful bread knife. The way the blade is shaped it is very stiff even though it is relatively thin. That stiffness combined with the very sharp scalloped cutting edge makes it easy to make accurate, straight cuts, even on thick crusted breads. I love the way this knife cuts.
The handle has an artistic look and feels good in my hand, however, there was a problem with it. It is attached to the blade in two places as you can see in the picture. The bottom attachment came loose the first time it was used. I notified the seller and the manufacturer of the problem and offered to try and superglue it. The seller said, okay. Never heard from the manufacturer. I decided to use Krazy Glue. After cleaning with alcohol, I taped up the areas on the blade I didn't want to get glue on. I slid the bottom part of the handle down as much as I could to expose the area where it was supposed to be attached and put a drop of glue on both sides. I let it slid back in place and let it set for a few minutes. Its been used daily and the glued connection seems to be solid so far. However, there is a 1-year warranty so if the glued attachment eventually comes loose I'll send it back for a replacement. Hope it holds.
