(More customer reviews)I have been using a regular all metal serrated knife for as long as I can remember to slice my homemade bread. We always ended up with slightly mishapen cuts, slices too thick or too thin or both on one slice...
Now that we're making a loaf or two a week, it was time to invest in something that worked better...but I didn't realize HOW much better this was til I tried it out on hard rustic loaves, soft loaves, you name it.
Each slice, from the saw like small metal piece attached, is cut with you having full control of a straight slice of whatever thickness you desire.
Your drawback on this over a metal knife is you can't throw it in the dishwasher. However, if it's only used on bread, you shouldn't need to. It's a very small blade and crumbs just fall off.
Utilized by cutting the bread in a sawing motion. You don't have to be careful. It does it easy and quickly.
Conclusion: Regardless of what brand you get, I think there is no better way to cut bread than one designed like this.
