Martha Stewart Collection Sand Enameled Cast Iron Casserole, 7 Qt. Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)I purchased this product a few months ago and have used it fairly extensively since then. While I like it and think it was worth the money it has some flaws. The main flaw is that the cast iron is VERY thick. This means you need to carefully monitor the heat until you're used to it. I have used it to bake no knead bread and it heats up too much for the normal baking instructions, burning the bread on the bottom even when I use parchment paper. The thick cast iron also makes this fairly heavy. While the weight does not bother me, it's something to be aware of when purchasing. The other problem is that it is easily discolored. I have used Barkeeper's Friend to clean it and that works well but I would rather not use such a toxic product.
All in all I'm pleased with it, especially in light of the price vs. other brands and have recommended it to friends, with the noted caveats.
