The paper making mold is oven-proof and extremely convenient as it eliminates the delicate unmolding process, as well as the transfer and storage of the cake or pastry. Each mold is freestanding and microwave and oven safe up to 450 degrees F. Each mold is freezer-safe as well. This baking mold has a dark brown paper background accented with gold fleur-de-lys. (More customer reviews)Only downside, it takes a few extra minutes of baking time due to the light color. Otherwise, just apply a little oil and it releases the baked goods better than the so called "Nonstick" pans that I have, for less than half the price. Hope this helps.
PS: update a couple of years later... this pan did not last long, in fact it started rusting shortly after I wrote the initial review and we had no choice but to throw it out. Should have updated sooner, sorry...

What makes this pan so much better is that the edges are extended on the ends to provide sturdy, rigid handles. This makes it easy and safe to remove hot pans from the oven.

Fox Run 4-Inch Loaf Pan Set, Set of Four Review

(More customer reviews)It is 4" long by 2.25" wide at the top of the cavity; 3.5" long by 1.75" wide at the bottom of the cavity; just slightly over 1.25" deep. In other words, it is most definitely petite... some might even consider it tiny. Perfect for baking personal-sized or sample-sized breads/cakes/meatloaf/etc. Too small (in my opinion) if one's intent is to bake goodies in it for gifting ONE loaf to a household consisting of 2 or more people.
It's not non-stick but if you grease the inside of the pan's cavity lightly, the baked good slides out of the pan easily. (I have not yet needed to run a knife along the edges nor to thump the bottom of the pan to coax out the bread/cake.)
Inside the cavity of the loaf pans are flat surfaces with curved edges and curved corners that make washing/cleaning these pans very easy.
Craftsmanship and quality of material are good. I've used my set almost once a week since I got it about a month ago and the pans have not warped, dented, nor rusted.

The USA Pans Rectangular Cake Pan is constructed of aluminized steel, the material of choice for commercial bakeries. It measures 9 X 13", perfect for cakes and brownies. (More customer reviews)These pans make great whole wheat bread. The little slices are just big enough to grab out of the toaster. Great if you are trying to limit your carbs, because you can have two slices for a sandwich, so no martyr factor.
The crusts are always perfect and the kids fight over who gets the heel.
HOWEVER - I've had this in my "save for later" box waiting for them to go down to their "normal" price, and just recently the price has QUADRUPLED !!! They are NOT worth that.
I know I can't put numbers in here, but the price should be in the single digits.
Editing to say - I don't think it had anything to do with me but the item dropped to its normal price :)

At first glance it looks great. Nice heavy metal, smooth non-stick surface, I thought I'd hit the jackpot.
Apparently, not so.
I baked with it ONCE and it (and what I was baking) is completely ruined. I baked a simple loaf of white bread. The SLICKDAD non-stick finish is a total joke. I cared for the pan as directed beforehand, the loaf still stuck, and the SLICKDAD finish came off ON THE LOAF! I tossed the loaf and the pan in one go. I would NOT buy this again, nor would I EVER recommend it for anyone.

(More customer reviews)I got a gonga on this pan so I bought 9! I made cranberry nut bread and wrapped it up with a big bow as a Christmas gift for teachers and neighbors. One neighbor returned the pan because it was such a nice pan she thought she should!
I think it may be a bit bigger than your average pan so just check your bread a little earlier as it will cook a little faster.
