When my old Sunbeam mixer died, I decided to purchase this model. I am very glad I did. If this one lasts as long as my old mixer, we will retire together!
The Heritage model is quiet and powerful. At first I thought the mixer was slow, but not so. It just quietly beats, whips, and kneads along. I was pleasantly surprised when the dough hooks would really knead bread dough. My hands appreciate that, and I even make homemade bread more often.
The beater release button and mixer button to raise mixer were stiff at first. However, they have loosened up with use and that is no longer a problem. Due to the height (nearly 16"), I cannot put the mixer in my kitchen cabinets. I have to let it set on the counter top. This might be a problem for some folks. Basically, what it does for me is make me keep it cleaner!
The mixer is quite heavy, but I consider that a plus, as it shouldn't tip over. When the mixer is raised, it will not come down without depressing the button, so there is no danger of it falling when you don't want it to. All in all, I am well pleased with the mixer.
