The USA Pans Rectangular Cake Pan is constructed of aluminized steel, the material of choice for commercial bakeries. It measures 9 X 13", perfect for cakes and brownies. The metal thickness has been selected to allow for even heat distribution and maximum service life. An important and unique feature of this pan is its corrugated design. (More customer reviews)These pans make great whole wheat bread. The little slices are just big enough to grab out of the toaster. Great if you are trying to limit your carbs, because you can have two slices for a sandwich, so no martyr factor.
The crusts are always perfect and the kids fight over who gets the heel.
HOWEVER - I've had this in my "save for later" box waiting for them to go down to their "normal" price, and just recently the price has QUADRUPLED !!! They are NOT worth that.
I know I can't put numbers in here, but the price should be in the single digits.
Editing to say - I don't think it had anything to do with me but the item dropped to its normal price :)

(More customer reviews)After mixing your dough and letting it rise the first time, this basket helps shape the dough into a perfect loaf, with an interesting pattern on the crust. My first loaf with this basket turned out perfectly. It is much easier than hand shaping a loaf, and much more rustic/natural than using a loaf pan. The natural coils shape and decorate the loaf the old-fashioned way. When it's done rising, carefully remove it from the basket and care fully put it on a pre-heated bread stone in the oven. The loaves look and taste great. this particular basket shape is great for making sandwich bread. I make almost all of my bread with one of these woven baskets. It is so convenient, and the bread lookks and tastes great.

Chicago Metallic Commercial 1-Pound Loaf Pan Review

(More customer reviews)I bought these loaf pans in frustration: frustration that the cheap ones at the dime store always rusted as soon as they got wet, frustration that non-stick surfaces scratch if you look at them funny, frustration that no one seems to understand what a normal size loaf pan is. What finally sold me on this pan was the magic phrase "Twenty-five year warranty." I figured that no one would put a twenty-five year warranty on a pan that was going to rust.
This 8-1/2 x 4-1/2 inch pan (these are the inside/bottom measurements) is just the right size for your typical "loaf of bread" recipe. I bought two and recommend that to anyone who bakes more than twice a year.
We're washing it as if it's a non-stick pan, although it's technically not. The surface cures, though, and that will happen faster if you don't take a wad of steel wool to it. I usually line the bottom with a (lessee here, if you cut a half-sheet size piece of parchment paper into quarters, what do you get?) a small piece of parchment paper and entirely skip the grease-and-flour step. I've never had any trouble getting any sort of bread out of the pan. I loosen the sides with a plastic spatula, and the bread slides out perfectly.
The only downside is that the folded metal on the corners can trap little tiny crumbs. This is a bigger problem with quick breads and other slack doughs. So the question you need to answer for yourself is this: To get an awesome, well-behaved loaf pan that will never rust, is it worth running a toothpick through the corners each time you wash it? I decided that twenty seconds and one-tenth of a cent (for a cheap toothpick) per washing was definitely worth it to me.

It's a nice feature, but I have not had any issues with leaking. The buckle works easily and securely. Also it is not made in China - which is, unfortunately, rather difficult to find these days. This pan is German made. It has been so much easier to get my desserts to release with this springform loaf pan that I am going to get one or two more.

Old Mountain 10160 Pre-Seasoned 11-3/4-Inch Cast Iron Loaf Pan Review

(More customer reviews)I own a LOT of cast iron..in fact, I probably own most of what Lodge has put out and typiually only purchase Lodge but I needed some additional bread pans and since cannot find Lodge brand any longer I purchased 2 from Sante Cabin and 2 from Old Mountain. Old Mountain arrived quickly, well wrapped/packaged and completely treated. Washed and used to encounter bread that dropped effortlessly from the pan without need for barely any prompting. After a few more uses the finish was even better...perfect.
The Sante Cabin cast iron arrived a few days later, washed to prepare for use and pan immediately began to rust. Description indicates "true seasoned" and "ready to use right out of the box" but also denotes "non-seasoned". It is NOT seasoned and rusted immediately after washing. On the other hand, the two Old Mountain loaf/bread pans were perfect. WAshed easily, zero rust, true non-seasoning and a beautifully shaped loaf.
