(More customer reviews)These are great little knives and I am planning on adding many more RADA knives to our household. First. I love the fact that they are made right here in the United States by a well-established company. They have a Life-Time guarantee. And they are a GREAT PRODUCT FOR THE MONEY! The blades are as good as any of the Swiss or German manufacturer knives.
Be sure and get the Rada Knife Sharpener when you order. Although the Rada knives have been holding their edges very nicely so far, I have salvaged other knives in our kitchen with their great little easy-to-use sharpener!
I have not placed these in the dishwasher yet. We usually handwash all our cutting knives, so these are no different. But I do not have to worry if the kids are visiting and one or more of these get into the dishwasher inadvertantly (which is why I opted for the black handles instead of the silver ones available).
They do not have "heft" to them, but handle nicely (in my opinion) and cut divinely! This is a great little set for a housewarming or other gift also, so many people make-do with inferior knives that it would be a welcome addition to any home.

Then I found these Rada knives on Amazon and after reading the reviews figured I'd order them and, even if they were just okay, I hadn't spent that much so it wouldn't really be a big loss. Well, needless to say I've been impressed since day one. I've used them every day, several times a day and washed them in the dishwasher many times now. They are still incredibly sharp, lightweight and feel very comfortable to hold. I wouldn't change a thing! I plan on ordering more Rada knives as needed.

Chef's Choice Multi-Edge Diamond Hone Knife Sharpener Review

(More customer reviews)I got one of these recently, and put it to the ultimate test. I have an old "mixed" set of knives, which were dull beyond the ability of using the honing steel. At the time I got this sharpener, I also got a Brand New set of Sabatier Commercial knives, which had been hand sharpened from the factory.
The test was could I get the old knives to be as sharp as the brand new ones. The answer, No I couldn't. In a sense, this is unfair, since the old knives (with the exception of a Wustoff paring knife) are of lower quality. Further, the sharpener did restore the older knives to a very respectable edge. My old Hoffritz Chef's knife, for example was sharp enough to cut through a piece of paper held in one hand (a test recommended in the manual)with little effort. (The Sabatier Knife did this effortlessly).
One hint -- the manual says that a reasonably sharp knife can be sharpened in 20 or so strokes, while a dull knife might take 50. This, in my view understates the process. While my old knives were very dull, it took a couple of minutes per knife to get a good edge on them.
Overall, I recommend this product, for all but the best knives. I will probably have my Sabatier knives professionally sharpened, but will certainly use this for my second set of knives.

(More customer reviews)I have never taken the time to write a review but this great product deserves all the attention it can get. AnySharp really lives up to its claims. I have owned every knife sharpener from a grinding wheel, oil stone, electric sharpeners diamond and otherwise, as well as an assortment of hand held devices which are all retired now that I have AnySharp. It is safe. It is fast. It can make a cheap super market knife cut like an expensive German knife. Yes the cheap knives may not hold the edge as long but with AnySharp you can restore the edge with a couple of strokes. I have restored old knives to service with this sharpener. It also reaches and sharpens the entire blade better than wheeled devices. I just wish I owned the company or at least a couple more sharpeners for the camping and fishing.

(More customer reviews)I have hoped to find a true competitor to Le Creuset for years, one that was more affordable and of the same quality. Staub fills the bill, and fills it with style. This cocotte is large enough to accomodate a good-sized chicken, and is perfect for slow-cooked stews and braises. The interior coating is easy to clean and effectively non-stick. While its weight may be a deterrent for some, it is so attractive that it can be left on the stovetop or on a counter for easy access. It is my best purchase of the year and I look forward to using it for years to come.

(More customer reviews)If you are able to get real bagels - as opposed to the bread-like things sold in grocery stores or in the mid-West - this knife is for you. I make my own bagels, using high-gluten flour and the boiling method, and the exterior is definitely the "tough" crust of real bagels. Most bread knives had some difficulty biting into the crust and then cutting through the entire bagel.
This Rada bagel knife bit right in and was able to handle the tough bagel crust without damaging the more delicate interior. I've been using it for three years, and the knife is just as sharp as the day I got it.
I would not recommend using this knife on more delicate breads and rolls as the cutting edge is rather coarse. Rada makes a wonderful bread knife and a short bread knife that are ideal for other breads.

This set of Rada knives is made in Iowa, and has a knife or tool for almost any task the ordinary cook will face. It feels a little light in the hand at first because the handle is aluminum but the balance is right on. The handle also has a "brushed" finish which helps with the grip
I would definitely recommend this set, and also the "steel wheels" sharpener, which really simplifies a task I've always had difficulty with.
It is shipped in a box that is nice for gift giving and storage.

Lansky Crock Stick Serrated Bread Knife Sharpener Review

(More customer reviews)I am a fan of Lansky Crock Sticks and I was excited to see that they sold a sharpener for serrated knives, so I ordered one from Amazon. I was disappointed and disgusted when the item arrived. It has two little illustrations on the package that are supposed to pass as instructions. There are no written instructions at all and the pictures are inadequate, as far as I'm concerned. Also, the item is not put together correctly. The sharpening stone is triangle-shaped and has a groove that runs the length of one side. This grooved side is supposed to be glued to the wooden handle, but they glued the wrong side so the groove is exposed. The part of the handle that the stone is glued to isn't level, so the stone doesn't even touch it on one end. The item was slapped together by someone that obviously was clueless and the quality control was non-existent. I went to the Lansky website, hoping there might be at least be instructions there, but there are none. I emailed their customer service and received no answer. I am going to return the item to Amazon; it is useless to me. Lansky should be ashamed.

Wusthof Gourmet Serrated Bread Knife Review

(More customer reviews)Although this is a stamped blade, it is a very well made knife. Instead of a 'tooth' style serrated blade, it has a scalloped edge. It works beautifully on bread of any kind, cuts right through any crust without crushing the bread. Also cuts cakes cleanly. For bagels it works best if you lay the bagel flat.
I've also used it to carve boneless roasts with good results. It doesn't carve well though for turkeys and chickens (but then it's not designed for that task.
I've had this knife for 2 years and it cuts cleanly every time and supposedly will never need sharpening. Time will tell on that one.
