(More customer reviews)Here is the product that started it all. Created originally as an alternative to Melmac, way back in the Nixon administration, it has captured the imagination of America, especially when it was found that one could microwave food on it.
Its siblings, in Butterfly Gold, Spring Green, Snowflake Blue, Old Town Blue, et al, alas, are not longer available. But this set 100% compatible, so it makes for a quick way to restock broken pieces (no, NOTHING is 100% indestructible) at half the price of replacing pieces one (or four) at a time.
No, it doesn't have the stackable (and microwaveable) cup and saucers. It doesn't even have the ceramic (non-microwaveable but matching) mugs. But basic white cups and saucers are available anywhere. This has the basic pieces (minus the dessert bowl) that you probably want, plus some tumblers thrown in for good luck. But be careful, because the tumblers are clear, so they are not really Corelle, and they shouldn't be thrown far...

(More customer reviews)We purchased these knives...and think they've been worth every penny. They're sharp, comfortable to grip, aesthetically appealing, and come in a nice assortment. Certain knives like the Chef's knife and the table/steak knives have become the proverbial 'work horse' of the set while the tomato knife hasn't really seen the light of day since it left the box. The polypropylene handles are capable of withstanding high temperatures and, because of their nature, do not harbor bacteria like some sets that contain rivets or those with wooden handles.
While this is a great set, it is not a high-end set, so you may want to look elsewhere if that's what you're after. None of the knives have a full-tang (where the steel goes all the way through the handle) or rivets. The handles are plastic. Also, the steel is from Japan (if I'm not mistaken) instead of Germany and boy, do the Germans know how to make steel!
So, dear friends, if you're looking for a set that you can pass on to your children and your children's children then you should indeed move up the Henckels line or look into Cutco (my favorites) or another high-end set. If you're looking to buy a good, inexpensive set that looks great and is every bit as functional, then look no more!
Also, consider looking into a pair of kitchen shears... they're indespensible!

George Foreman GR10ABW Champ Grill with Bun Warmer, White Review

(More customer reviews)I've been watching George's informercials and regular commercials since they first appeared, and I've always been tempted to buy a grill. They were kinda pricey, so I never did. But then, I got one of the small grills with the bun warmer as a gift, and now... I AM HOOKED! I have every intention of buying the extra large grill as a result of the fun I've had with this one.
What you've heard about the grills is all true--they're really easy to clean, they cook food incredibly fast and evenly, and food really does come out as juicy and tender as the commercials show you. Tell you how good it works: I decided to grill skinless, boneless chicken tenders one night for dinner, but they were frozen solid, and I had a group of surly, hungry family members waiting. Just as a gamble, I put the tenders on the George grill to THAW them a little. Well, they thawed all right and were completely cooked in about 8 minutes. Color me surprised!
I've done steak, pork chops, chicken, and shrimp on this little grill, and with each use, I get better and better at gauging the cooking time. I do recommend that you use cooking spray to further the ease of cleanup because spices and marinades tend to blacken (or even burn) where the ridges press into the meat, and cooking spray will slow/stop that. As there's no temperature control on this model, everything cooks at max power, so time is of the essence in making sure what you're cooking doesn't blacken too much.
The bun warmer does just what it promises--warms. No worries about burning the bread because it doesn't toast; it just makes your breads nice and soft. I enjoy the color choices for the lid with this model--I think it's a fun little extra that gives some personality to a simple appliance (I recommend the purple). There's a spatula and drip tray included, and you'll find that the spatula is better used as a scraper than it is for anything else--it makes short work of removing stuck-on food, etc. You'll be stunned to see just how much fat drains away from your food.
If I had to come up with one negative point about the grill, I'd say this: it's not hard to burn yourself on it. The heated surface extends to the sides of the grill, so if you go to move the whole unit, it's really easy to char your fingers.
It's a great introduction to the George Foreman line of grills! The price is incredibly reasonable, and the machine works so well, you'll be glad you got one.

(More customer reviews)I have to agree with the review "Awful". I recently got this as a gift. Since it came with dough hooks I used it to knead my bread dough. The mixer did a fine job for nearly 5 minutes. Then it started to struggle and smoke started coming out of it.
It is nice to have an inexpensive stand mixer, but I wouldn't recommend using it for anything but cake batter. Throw away the dough hooks, they will only kill it.

We have found the bread mix from Gluten Free Pantry is great. but our old bread machine, a Breadman Ultimate was not turning out a consistant product. It was less than a year old and quit working. Which turned out to be a blessing. Based on our experience with other Cuisinart products and the reviews on Amazon we decided on the Cusinart CBK-100. The gluten free cycle is perfect. It bakes the best gluten free bread we have ever had. We have used Gluten free pantry Sandwich bread mix and also Bob's Red Mill gluten free multigrain mix. WOW! THe bread is so good that I even like it. This bread is light and the crust is perfect. It even is easier to slice. If you are looking for a bread maker that turns out excelent gluten free bread this is the one to buy
