Our 'normal' stick (an East Coast stick, as I understand that they are different on the West Coast) fits in fine - you do need to 'load' it from the bottom (remove the plunger, then insert), but that's not hard at all. Curved to 'fit' the ear of corn. And, we've had no issues with the top falling off. I do suppose it's true that it's not an airtight seal, but we've gone through its' capacity (1/2 stick) in no more than 2 meals, so it's not really an issue for us. It's also top-rack dishwasher safe, so clean-up is a breeze.
