Then I found these Rada knives on Amazon and after reading the reviews figured I'd order them and, even if they were just okay, I hadn't spent that much so it wouldn't really be a big loss. Well, needless to say I've been impressed since day one. I've used them every day, several times a day and washed them in the dishwasher many times now. They are still incredibly sharp, lightweight and feel very comfortable to hold. I wouldn't change a thing! I plan on ordering more Rada knives as needed.

Wusthof 4109-7 Classic 5-Inch Tomato Knife Review

(More customer reviews)When I began collecting Wusthof-Trident Classic knives twenty years ago, I chose the basics first: cook's knives, parers, slicers, utility knives, steak knives, boning & filet knives. I acquired them one or two at a time, always on sale, because this cutlery has been an expensive investment. When Wusthof added a tomato knife to this line, I bought it even though I wasn't sure if I would like it or use it a lot. Now I recommend this 5-inch tomato knife to everyone. Its serrated edge hasn't needed sharpening ever, and it cuts, slices, dices, and chops fresh tomatoes so quickly. The forked tip is great for taking out the stem ends of tomatoes. I've never used my tomato knife on anything other than tomatoes, which is why I think it has stayed so sharp. I use my 8-inch serrated bread knife for slicing bagels and breads, and my 5-inch serrated utility knife for cutting citrus and other fruit. Also, I hand-wash and dry this knife and keep it stored in a wooden block.

(More customer reviews)I LOVE THE SHARP SERRATED BLADE OF THIS KNIFE. IT IS OF GOOD SIZE, FITS INTO MY HAND PERFECTLY. THE ONLY PROBLEM I FIND IS THAT THE HANDLE IS NOT SATIN FINISH ALUMINUM, BUT RATHER A BRUSHED FINISH THAT CAN BECOME A BIT ROUGH FEELING IN THE PALM AFTER SEVERAL WASHINGS.

(More customer reviews)These are truly very sharp, good working knives. I was so happy with the tomato knife that I bought a 2nd one, the steak knife set, and the carving knife. Love them all, except: Just be aware that (now that I've had them for several months) the handles are brushed aluminum which gives a good offsetting weight in the hand, however, the shiny silver color turns dingey gray. If you don't mind that-especially bec now they don't match the silver color of the blade, then they are a great buy. I would give 5 stars if they didn't discolor. NOTE: I NEVER ONCE PUT THEM IN THE DISHWASHER.
