Mine has a tray on the bottom so im assuming this one does but i dont see it in the picture. I also use this to store the baked items i have made so they will keep fresh. I love lock & locks. I must have 15 sets or so. I'm hooked.

When you have a lot of bread to store, there is always toast on the menu. Where there is toast, there is butter. This low-profile brushed chrome box holds 2 full sized loaves of bread and leaves NO FINGERPRINTS like some of the stainless steel or glass front boxes. I also found this to be the most aesthetically appealing bread box since it coordinated with my toaster and coffee maker. So far, my bread likes its new home!

It's a little tight for 2 full-size loaves of bread though and the packaging needs to be better. Mine had a little dent in the front panel when it arrived, but it wasn't bad enough to make me want to ship it back. All in all, I am pleased with this box. fast forward to 2009 - It is still used everyday and still looks great on my counter. Easy to keep clean.

Once done, the lid operates smoothly and closes on the rubber stops simultaneously. Has potential if you are willing to 'tweek' it. Made out of quality materials, like anything else these days it is assembled in a hurry with little regard for fit.

Even though this particular style is much smaller than what I originally wanted, it is such a pretty jar. I think of it more as a jar than a bread box. It also will not hold the longer type bread if you want to keep the bread in its original wrapping. But it's such a pretty jar and it looks very nice sitting on my counter by the sink. It is also more money than what I had wanted to pay but I still love it!

The spring loaded hook snapped off and now it is always open because the spring action keeps it that way. We're not really sure what to do with it but at $50 we certainly expected more. I saw the bigger, made in Belgium, version of the Brabantia bread box at local store, and it felt like a well-made product.
The stainless-steel material was strong and did not retain any fingerprints.
This Chinese-made, smaller version of the "the real thing", is another story. While it gets the job done in keeping the bread fresher than it would be if left on a kitchen counter, it better not be touched or your fingerprints will be proudly imprinted on its surface. It looks terrible, and I don't feel like cleaning it every day. I am returning this one and getting something else. Hopefully, you won't make the same mistake I made.

(More customer reviews)I LOVE my Bun Buddy!!! Finally a solution for all those moldy, stale, freezer burned buns we have been throwing away!
We've tried everything to keep from having to throw buns away. We don't always use the whole pack at once...and the leftovers would ALWAYS get thrown out. I have no idea why this plastic container works so well...all I know is that it does, and it does it well. I haven't thrown out a bun once since I have had this wonderful gadget. I was so impressed with the first bag of opened buns that we put in there. They had been in the keeper nearly 2 weeks, we decided to have sloppy joes and I was a little nervous about what I would find. The buns kept their shape (no getting smashed on the counter, in the fridge or freezer burn or cracked crusts in the freezer) they were soft, and I have to say the best tasting I have ever had. I loved the texture, the moistness...no stale flavor..it was awesome!
I have 2 bread buddies...and I love them. I am so glad I found out about them and even happier that there is now a bun buddy. I haven't thrown ANY bread away since I have had these products...and we used to throw a LOT.
They aren't real pretty, but they work so well, I really don't care.
If you are on the fence about buying this product...do it, you won't be disappointed.
