Although I ordered my seeds too late in the planting season to sow them this year, I'm very excited to plant my Blue Jarrahdales next year!
Over the last several years I've picked Blue Jarrahdale pumpkins from an Alabama farm and have found them to be simply THE BEST pumpkins. They're quite dense (one 7 pound pumpkin made 4 pumpkin pies and 6 loaves of pumpkin bread) and are hugely tasty!

PUMPKIN: The name pumpkin originated from the Greek word for "large melon" which is "pepon." Pumpkins are grown all around the world for a variety of reasons ranging from agricultural purposes to commercial and ornamental sales. Pumpkins are very versatile in their uses for cooking, from the fleshy shell, to the seeds, to even the flowers; most parts of the pumpkin are edible. Traditionally, pumpkin is a very popular Halloween and Thanksgiving staple.
Blue Jarrahdale Pumpkin: Fairly large, avg. 6-10 lb., drum-shaped fruit with heavy, rounded ribs and slate gray skin. Medium sweet, thick orange flesh of good quality. Long storage. An appealing pumpkin/squash for fall decorative use. Stores well. An Australian native, it is a favorite of U.S. amateur seed savers.
