This is a good carving knife with brand name. Beautiful and durable but the handle is a bit heavy that you will feel tire after you carved a whole turkey.

J.A. Henckels International Classic 8-Inch Stainless-Steel Chef's Knife Review

It's important to note that this knife is not made in Germany (the 4 Star, 5 Star, and Pro-S series are).
I started my good knife collection with a set of 3 of these International Classic knives. I later decided to get a larger set (9) of the 4 Star series, some of the finest knives in the world. However, I prefer this chef's knife over the 4 Star one. The grip is heavier and makes the balance a bit nicer.
For the paring knife, I much prefer the 4 Star one, so I wouldn't recommend the set of 3, but this knife is great. I use it all the time. If you are starting out on a knife collection, I recommend these things:
-a 4 Star 3-inch paring knife (or 2 if you are lazy with clean-up)
-this Chef's knife
-a cheap and large bread knife
-a medium sized 5-6in utility knife (good quality)
-a honing steel (good quality)
-a wood block to put them in (good knives should not be shoved into a drawer with other knives)
-[optional]a carving set of knife and fork, if you need carving utensils (I don't much)
I'd weigh the cost of these together against getting a more expensive set (if you are on a budget).

I recently purchased a set of 6 of these knives, and I couldn't be happier. We were originally considering Global and Wusthof Culinar knives, but once holding those and then these, we decided these were the knives for us.
Their unusual design is not only stylish, but functional. The wider handle design makes them easy to hold onto, even when your hands are wet or greasy. (Not the case with the other two.) The knives are also heavy and extremely well balanced, giving you a solid feel when you cut through something. Finally, they are forged out of just one piece of metal, so there are no seams (like on the Wusthof Culinar line) between the handle and the blade, making them a breeze to clean up with a little soapy water. (As with all good knives, they should never be put in the dishwasher.)
This bread knife cuts through soft or hard bread with ease. It is so sharp that I think it will be a long time before it needs sharpening. (For comparison, I use some of the other knives in my set every day, have had them for 3 months, and I'm just thinking of sharpening for the first time soon.)
I really don't think you could go wrong with this knife.

I've owned Henckels knives for years, and with the exception of the lower end product line, have always been pleased with the quality. Over the past few years I've had troubles with carpel-tunnel syndrome, so shopped for knives that would be easier on my wrists--and this one is exactly as I'd hoped! Ergonomically, it's perfect. Feels good in the hand, wrist is straight, no stress. Another benefit is the weight & balance of the Twin Cuisine line; it's rather heavy, but the balance is perfect. Overall, an excellent quality tool! I liked it so much I ordered several others and have actually replaced most of my older knives with the Twin Cuisine product.
One caveat: this sucker is SHARP! My husband (no dummy with a knife) sliced his finger open first time he used it.
