(More customer reviews)I do a lot of canning from greenbeans to peaches. This knife is comfortable in my hand, super sharp, and an absolute must have. My kids have used it and it doesn't slip out of their hands. We actually fight over who gets this knife. That's why I'm ordering more.

(More customer reviews)I have a very old potato peeler that I thought worked great, but its getting kinda rusty and old looking, so I decided I would try a new peeler. I read all the reviews and this one sounded like the best to me. Everyone raved about how great it peeled, but I figured....how much of a difference can there really be in a peeler. Let me tell you, there IS a difference. It is very very easy to use. It just glides along the vegetable and takes off thinner slices than my old peeler. It just seems so much easier to use. I can't compare it to the other new peelers, but I can tell you if you have an old peeler, do yourself a favor and get a new one.
I almost bought the one with the aluminum handle because it looks so pretty, but decided being able to put it in the dishwasher was more important than looks. It's bigger than I expected, but it still feels good in my hand, and my husband likes the bigger size (since he gets stuck doing most of the peeling). I'm very happy with this purchase.

(More customer reviews)My mom and I bought this peeler from a little old lady at a flea market 11 years ago. Since then it has been the only peeler we've used. When I went away to college I tried to find one for myself and have been scouring flea markets for years trying to find the seller/product. I tried every other peeler from cheap grocery store ones to expensive department store specialty shops, without equal results. I'm very glad to see them available on Amazon. This peeler is just as sharp today as it was the first day we bought it. Peels were thin and smooth all around whether you cut an apple/potato/whatever. Can be used by both righty/lefties and is very lightweight and maneuverable. I love it so much I ended buying 10 more for family members. Highly recommended!

The knives and gadgets are well made and durable--I especially love this peeler for carrots and cucumbers and my serrated chopper makes short work of chopping a cup or more of nuts (and I do not have to drag out the food processor, etc.).
I have many Rada knives, also, and find them to remain sharp for a long time and to have a good "feel" in the hand. They are also made in USA!

(More customer reviews)I actually had bought this very same knife 3 years ago at an Amish shop. Somehow it vanished after a family function with lots of helpers in the kitchen. (It probably went out with the potato peelings!) I had tried several other paring knives and was not satisfied. When I noticed "my" knife on Amazon, I ordered it right away! It is nicely balanced and very sharp. I can get a lot done in little time. It is best to hand wash and dry it to keep the handle looking nice. Highly recommend this one.

(More customer reviews)The Rada peeler's handle turned out to be a bit longer and thicker than I expected. I'm happy with it though - it has a really nice weight to it (without being heavy). I love the brushed aluminum handle. Very nice matte finish.
When I peeled the first carrot with it - wow. Super sharp. It glides over the surface of the vegetable, lifting the peel (no snagging like some inexpensive peelers) and feeling awesomely effortless. You don't have to press - you barely move your hand along and the thing glides!
Safety tip, from me and my thumb: you'll want to make sure to put your peeler in the dish rack pointy side down. I reached for a fork, didn't see the peeler, and it got me good.

(More customer reviews)This is the very best vegetable peeler I've ever used, in four decades of cooking. It was given to me as a gift 10 years ago from a friend in the food-service industry, and it is still as sharp and effective as when it was new (I DON'T wash it in the dishwasher.) In fact, I so fell in love with this peeler, that when I replaced my old knives two years ago, I replaced them with Rada steak and preparation knives. They keep an edge like no other (JA Henckels doesn't compare), and when they do get dull, they sharpen up with just a few quick strokes. And they're WAY less expensive than their better-known competitors. And they're made in the USA.
I bought these to give as gifts after some friends came to my house to help with a large-quantity cooking event for our church, and was shocked at how easy to use, how well-balanced, and how SHARP this peeler is.
