(More customer reviews)This is a good value because you get 3 sturdy bamboo cutting boards, of different sizes. The handle makes it great carrying the food to your cooking pot or table. I have a much larger, heavy tabletop bamboo board for the really big stuff like whole chickens, etc. So these are really handy for cutting and transporting, and display/serving.
It was awaiting availability from the manufacturer when I ordered it. I was willing to wait. But after a couple of weeks, with no estimated arrival date, I emailed Amazon. They were no help, just brushed me off with "we have no info from the manufacturer". Well, can't you call them? I ended up contacting the manufacturer Mango myself, who initially did not answer. My 2nd email said "please respond", which they did, with a date for availability. I forwarded that email to amazon, who again ignored it. I emailed amazon again, then finally got a "oh, you ordered it through US. I guess we'll be getting it soon..." Obviously the employee does not read emails fully.

The first board I have not stashed away to reduce clutter, this is a show peice. Just be sure to oil it every other day per instructions for the 1st month.

(More customer reviews)I am a destroyer of cutting boards. Traditional wood cutting boards, like unseasoned cast iron, are things I just don't get. They require too much upkeep.
Bamboo is different! It is harder than the end cut maple boards, yet it is more forgiving in te upkeep department. Bamboo still needs to be washed and oiled. A periodic scrubbing with Kosher salt and a cut lemon is a good thing too. The beauty is that bamboo boards do not warp as easily. This has been my saving grace!
Now for this board specifically: I have no regrets! It is nice and thick, which means it's more comfortable to use on days when you have a lot of items to work through; you'll experience less fatigue from chopping on a thicker board.
It's large size is very accomodating. The prep bowls are very handy. Push the food into the bowls to clear more space on the board. The containers lift out easily for transport to the stove or wherever. The containers are dishwasher safe.
For cleaning the surface, as stated earlier, it takes soap and water well. I wash the board on marathon cooking days or when I'm dealing with garlic and onion. For herbs and other veggies, I wipe the board with a dish-soapy towel. Once a month, sprinkle Kosher salt on the board and scrub it with the cut side of a lemon. Rinse and let dry. Oil the board mineral oil. I've had my board for almost two years and it is still beautiful.
This board is worth the price.

(More customer reviews)My compliments to Totally Bamboo and Amazon for carrying such a quality product - I highly recommend it. The shipment arrived promptly, and the block was well packed and protected. When I opened the box, I couldn't believe how beautiful - and brawny - this block is. The pictures don't do it justice. It is extremely well made - tightly crafted, very smooth and silky to the touch, substantial, but not too heavy to easily lift and move. The legs are just the right height and the rubber feet hold it nicely in place. It gives a very satisfying "thunk" when chopping - and dicing, slicing and mincing are a joy. Very easy care - wipe with hot, soapy water or vinegar and treat with wood oil as needed. Goodbye, wimpy acrylic and rough wood............hello beautiful bamboo! I give it a big TEN and will be purchasing more Totally Bamboo products.
Edited to add: Since purchasing this chopping block, I have discovered a wonderful product for treating wood and cast iron. It's a food grade mix of beeswax and mineral oil and can be found on eBay, sold by Wooden Wonders. Name is Beeswax Butcher Block Conditioner. It's thick and has a firm texture, meaning more beeswax and less oil. Great product!

Architec Acacia Gripper Raw Edge Cutting Board, 11 by 17-Inch Review

(More customer reviews)I like the raw edge trend and thought this cutting board would make a good presentation piece for cheeses. In person it's less of a true raw edge and more that one edge is distressed or sanded down. So it doesn't have the same rugged, earthy visual impact as pictured. Also there was a bit of a putty repair on the surface which is fairly obvious. However it is a solid board, the wood is good quality and it doesn't slip. So if you're looking for a utilitarian cutting board this is fine, but if you're searching for more of a unique statement piece it's not a great choice, the detail work just isn't there.

(More customer reviews)I bought this because it is made from real wood and from Oregon, not imported. I like the litte size. Very cute round and great drip edge! The drip edge is very deep. I don't see how I can make a mess with it.
I like this size for quick chops. Yes, you can see some marks from the knife, but that is better than on the counter. Easy to clean and drys up quick.
I look forward to buying other pieces. I checked out the manufacturers website and they have a very large offering of products. I bought a bread knife and a larger rectangular board as well. With the 4-3 offer, I got a left handed bread knife for my brother in law's xmas gift!
Did I mention, it feels like you are using a work of art? The wood is beautiful, very rich in tone and color. The natural variation is gorgeous.
